When I was a teen, all I was into was designer brands. My chest was highhhhh, far to high for a girl who was not from a rich background. Im not sure where it all changed for me but I think that it was when my mum convinced me to go Primark with her (a shop I previously shunned) and I ended up buying 2 big bags full of on trend items. Also, when I had to start fending for myself and got my first job, I quickly realised the real value of money.
Growing up, I loved loved LOVED Evisu. I think I was in year 8 when the brand blew up and was all over Vogue, Elle etc as the next big upcoming underground brand. It was also a time where Japanese street style was receiving a lot of eyes for their unique, quirky and fun sense of style which I loved also.
Evisu was and never has been cheap but the quality in the denim was second to none – well at the time anyway. One of my guilty purchases were the men’s Evisu jeans with the glow in the dark logo which ran all over the rear of the jean *hides face* (yes I bought mens jeans all in the name of having unique Evisu jeans). I had a few more items from Evisu i.e. jumpers, skinny jeans etc which i’ve since sold.
This Evisu jacket is still to me one of my favourite items. I also have the matching denim wrap skirt which I decided not to match with this outfit. Instead I pair the jacket with my black crop top and my favourite vintage Armani jeans. I also paired my favourite chunky heels from Topshop – they are also now on sale!!
Check out Evisu‘s A/W 15’ collection. I’ve got my eye on a few items and I think it’s safe to say Evisu will always be a brand in love.
